No, not a new idea but it is one that I’ve always wanted to try. And I was lucky enough to have friends (thank you!) who let me borrow their old staircase. I love the effect. If I had the chance to do it again I would definitely add more books.
A word of caution though- this kind of display won’t work well if you have kids or pets.
