Motto– Go Short!

On my honor, I will try:

To wear a short dress at my wedding.

To help others see that this is a great option.

To obey the Short Wedding Dress Club Laws.

1. A short dress is to be trusted.

2. A short dress is loyal.

3. A short dress is useful.

4. A short dress is a friend to all.

5. A short dress is courteous.

6. A short dress is cheerful.

7. A short dress is thrifty.

8. A short dress is best!

Note- My apologies to the Girl Scouts for taking their laws and tweaking them a bit to work with this post.

  1. I am soooo having a short wedding dress. I’ve always said that and as I approach 30 and I’m single, marriage is happening anytime soon for me obviously – but if by some off chance I meet the man of my dreams in say, my 50’s – I will still wear a short dress – love it. This is the best post ever. thanks xx

  2. One of the most beautiful posts I have ever seen. Though I personally am keeping my hopes set on a long dress, but these are incredibly beautiful!

  3. Oh I love this post!!! Dress #6 is my favorite! Short wedding dresses are so classy and beautiful. I wish I had worn a short dress for my wedding.

  4. Oh my word. The Oscar de la Renta is so fantastic.

Whenever I happen to get engaged, I will totally join this club.

  5. Though friends and family may scoff, I’ve always known I will wear a short wedding dress. A-line, shift, babydoll, I love them all. I’ve never felt comfortable in long dresses anyway and why feel uncomfortable on one of the most important days of my life? For me, it just doesn’t make any sense not to go short!

  6. I’m getting married in May and I have two short dresses! One modeled after Audrey Hepburn in “Funny Face” for the ceremony. And one very, very short Betsey Johnson “wedding-esque” dress for the reception

  7. i think i might want a short wedding dress! :) The Oscar De LaRenta one is to die for!!!

  11. The only wedding dresses I ever like are the short ones!!! This is a great list. I’ve already bought one I love, but now I want almost ALL of these!!

  12. I LOVE LOVE LOVE short wedding dresses and like another poster said , if I ever get married I will definitely be wearing a short one lol.
I particularly like the short ones on the Priscillia of Boston website or there is a stunner on the Amsale website too. Also check out candy anthony of London for a 50s style dress

  13. I just love the wedding dress in the very first picture, can anyone tell me who designed it? or where i can somehow find it or one like it? ? ?

  14. There are also the 50’s style dresses like the ones Dolly Couture makes.

Petticoats are a must if you are going to have a short dress.
