I’ve never been a big fan of clothing with sequins or anything metallic for that matter, but I’ve changed my mind after seeing how Glamour Magazine paired them with some great laid-back pieces in neutral colors. Take a look-
A sequined vest by J.Crew is tamed by the crisp white shirt and trench from Ralph Lauren and brown trousers at Rag & Bone.
Keep in mind to add accessories that are less party mode and more fun and quirky. Here a knit hat, crystal necklace and oversized watch balance out the sparkly sweater from Yves Saint Laurent.
The cozy cardigan by Hugo is the perfect cover-up for the shimmering shorts from Thakoon. Also good to note is the addition of solid colored tights!
Go ahead and buy that New Year’s Eve dress from Donna Karan! You can easily wear it during the day by just adding an Uniqlo cardigan (this time a less bulky one) and ribbed tights.
Don’t you love this look? Shiny silver Emilio Pucci pants gets matched up with a creamy colored poncho and gray felt hat both at Loro Piana.

I agree. I don’t usually like sequins and sparkles. But I love them used this way!!
Fabulous! This has always been my favorite way of seeing sparkly shiny pieces worn. Very inspirational.
how comfy that wrap looks…especially on these rainy days in milan
Hi Didi-
So nice to hear from you. :)
I love it! I bought a shimmery copper sweater coat this fall that I’m loving with jeans and a grey t-shirt…
