I’ve always been fascinated by barns and came across these three gems in upstate New York. The first is a striking white barn laid out in a L-shape. It has a Shaker simplicity to it…
… with windows lined up all the way around. On the same property is this smaller rustic example. The board and batten exterior is such a great contrast…
…to the previous white barn seen in the background. The barn also has a slate tile roof.
I read somewhere that tile like this outlasts the actual structure they’re used on. Not far from these two is the third barn.
Even with the faded yellow paint and broken windows this barn is my favorite. It still retains a beautiful gambrel roof and sliding wood doors.
