Inspired By…

…Georgia O’Keeffe.


Artist Georgia O’Keeffe did plenty of floral paintings. But she also did several of structures such as barns and this church (above) done in 1945. Inspired by the colors and deep shadows of her work, I photographed the facade of an old apartment building in a similar way.

  1. Beautiful painting. First time I have seen a structural painting of Georgia O’Keefe’s that I can recall. Awesome photograph, too, Martha. Wouldn’t it be fun to paint it in her style…but love the photo.

    1. Thanks, BJ. I love her barn paintings…she did one in the 1920’s up at Lake George, NY (check link). I wonder if it still exists?
