Jewelry Box

Necklace.

I have lots of memories of Dad with his camera as he documented my childhood. This image shows me in one of my more theatrical moments. That day it was as an Indian wearing a paper headband with a single feather I found in the backyard.

“… I photograph mostly people I know and cherish, who all live within walking or cycling distance from my home in Victoria, British Columbia. Each photographic excursion is something of a celebration and an adventure…”- Nina Raginsky,  Aperture Magazine, 1982.

Garden Craft

gardenfacewithflowersleaves-opt

Here’s an easy craft for kids. Have them cut several different kinds of flowers or leaves from the garden. Set the clippings on a picnic table. You can use big sheets of white paper (18″ x 24″ is a good size) as a backdrop for their creations. Above is a face made from Elephant’s Ear, Rhododendron, Sage, Cleome, & Black Eyed Susan Vine.
