There are some people that embrace every new fad that rolls down the pike, only to become fashion victims. And then there are some people that stay true to themselves… like my friend Danielle. Her wardrobe reflects that attitude. It’s based on soft, easy to wear pieces- loose blouses, maxi skirts and blue denim. She also loves going without any makeup and keeping her hair long. After all, who has time to fuss with mascara or hair. Life is too full of other things she’d rather be doing. :)

…’Grace: A Memoir‘ by Grace Coddington, 2012.
…” While we were preparing for the Vogue shoot in the countryside, Didier and I had been watching Patrick Kinmonth’s great-aunt prepare some exquisitely hued dried flowers from the garden- she preserved them with glycerine- and we were determined to use some in the pictures. The resulting story, with the faded, dusty flowers pinned to slightly old fashioned, English looking clothes, or arranged in the hair with yards and yards of tulle, was ravishingly romantic..”- Coddington’s description of a 1984 photo shoot with photographer Bruce Weber.
